1 hr Enduro Series

racing

The annual PSCRAA ‘OneHour Enduro’ events have proved a popular opportunity for sports car drivers to experience endurance racing in a team context featuring a driver change as well as pit crew based awards for best presented team and car. The more flexible ‘invitation’ style regulations, together with the increased ‘racing luck’ engendered by a longer race, tends to level the playing field, with the most recent races being dominated by cars of modest specification. The wide support for this format culminated in a 50 car grid at Phillip Island in December 2004, with sports cars from every State except Western Australia.

These races are open to Category 2B and 2F vehicles with three classes based on Power to Weight Ratio and two 2F capacity based classes. The 944 Porsche Challenge cars are also eligible to compete under 2F rules.

Classes:
A: For cars with a PWR up to 6.3 kg/kW
B: For cars with a PWR between 6.31 to 8.1 kg/kW
C: For cars with a PWR over 8.1kg/kW
D: Group 2F cars with a capacity greater than 2.5litres
F: Group 2F cars up to a maximum capacity of 2.5litres and
944 Porsche Challenge cars

The events will be based on the traditional format of two qualifying sessions, and two sprint races as well as the one-hour race. There is a compulsory driver change pit stop and the event is structured around two driver teams with one qualifying and one sprint race for each driver. Single drivers are welcome but will be limited to one qualifying and one sprint race. Single drivers will have to get out of the car, close the door and then re-enter the car.
